Psychological Testing & Assessment

A comprehensive psychological assessment is often used for the purposes of investigating a potential diagnosis of a mental health disorder, planning interventions and mental training programs, aiding in the process of making decisions in life, and raising awareness of one’s own psychological strengths, health, identity, and areas for growth.

An assessment involves an explorative and sophisticated process of evaluating an individual in order to gain clarity and perspective on how they uniquely function.

Using interviews, an assortment of psychological tests, relevant historical information, cultural identities and behavioral observations, information is obtained, analyzed, and integrated to produce a comprehensive report.

Based on the results of the testing, a diagnosis can be made and recommendations can determine a treatment plan, assist in medication planning, and identify the best academic accommodations and placement.

What is Psychological Testing & Assessment?

  • We approach the process of conducting psychological assessments from a client-centered, trauma-informed, social justice lens.

Our approach to diagnosis is that the strength or reliability of diagnostic impressions is best served by a rule out approach as opposed to a rule in approach.

We see a comprehensive psychological report as an invaluable resource for clients to gain access to opportunities that they otherwise may not have immediate access to, and also as a tool to advocate for clients based on their current, unique needs.

We strive to be health service providers who prioritize fairness and culturally sensitive practices, which includes taking into account cultural models of both health and illness in our assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention efforts.

  • We love assessing for the following conditions:

Neurodiversity & Neurodevelopmental disorders, including Autism Spectrum, ADHD, specific learning disorders, giftedness & twice-exceptional
